LA: Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester is just like slaying life right now. She's a successful actress (you may recognise her if you're a Gossip Girl fan, she played none other than Blair Waldorf who was totally my fave). She also appeared on Broadway in 'Of Mice And Men' last year which received rave reviews, and as if that wasn't enough, she's an amazing singer/songwriter and performer.

Although she has been singing for years, she released her album 'Heartstrings' independently in 2014. I bought the album on iTunes as soon as it was released in the UK, and I'm so glad that I did. Leighton has a very soft, folky/country sound, and its so easy and wonderful to listen to. Her voice is haunting and kind of ghostly but in a really good way.

The song I have chosen to share with you guys (although you need to buy the whole album, seriously) is LA. It's a song about the happy life she's living in LA. It's so sweet and adorable and oh my gosh I just can't get enough of it! The melody matches perfectly with the feel of the song. The instrumental is so charming and very easy listening but in no way boring! Her voice over the top just brings everything together and creates this overall feeling of warmth, happiness and love.

I'm seriously in LOVE with Leighton's music and I hope she brings out more, and makes a trip over the pond to perform for us in the UK, cause I would 100% go to see her!
