Blank Space: Taylor Swift

Blank Space;

Track two sold me the entire album after one listening.
'Blank Space' which became Swift's second single from 1989, is undoubtably the song i've listened to the most from the album. It is just so darn good. Legit, I can imagine after she heard it complete for the first time, her doing those dance moves she did in the You Belong With Me video, in just, pure celebration-mode because it is the best kind of pop song anyone could create.

love (love love love) the way rhythm is used in the main melodic line, punching at the beat and moving through playfully and emotively, matching the lyrics so perfectly, you cannot help but act like Taylor does in the video: my favourite lines "Screaming, lying, perfect storms, I can make all the tables turn" works so well, audiences alike will act out the words by just singing along! Then we are given that chorus: again, through the melody, we are able to capture that adament but sarcastic tone, throwing fits to the beat when shouting "And you love the game!"

The beat right from the start all the way through to the end is used as the best foundation for the song, picking up listeners at the first line and refusing to place them back down until the song is over. This song is a mountain: gradually growing with every verse, chorus and bridge, heightening and uplifting and even when we reach it's peak in the bridge where we are "warned" by the singer, we are still kept at the top, dancing throughout the remainder of the song as if we are taking in the incredible views. Now I know what she means when she says she could show us "incredible things."

Then there is that video. Oh. My Gosh. It's completing exaggerating and inviting those into the idea she was creating with the song, with enough sarcasm and slow-mo punches to get her message across so effectively, the video is as entertaining as it is telling. And, how can we forget, those outfits?! I would easily be satisfied knowing all the clothes she wears in this video were to be my wardrobe for the rest of my life. Seems perfectly adapt that if Taylor was gonna have a stab at all those rumours, she was gonna look fabulous and write a killer song in the process.
