All Dressed Up & Laugh and Die

This song isn't new but I found it really interesting. The first thing that stood out to me was her voice; it's so pure and soft, it lures you in without even knowing what she's singing about! Yet, when you listen to the lyrics, they're very poetic and impressive. Then there's the instrumentation, which is coaxing and very easy to listen too. All the instruments, including the drums and electric guitar, are played lightly so it flows with her voice to create a wonderful masterpiece.

I also loved this live version of 'Laugh and Die' with the large jumps in the vocal melody; exaggerating the difference of emotions between 'laughter' and 'death'. I also love the bowed piece of metal (I have no idea what it is!) but it makes the most incredible electronic/futuristic sound! I think this is a great tool to surround the idea of death, something which is inevitable and yet something which is still a mystery to our kind. Once again, Wilson's vocals are flawless.
