In The Morning;
The video I chose, I think shows them at what they do best, with simple accompaniment and taking full advantage of their use of harmonies. I found out about First Aid Kit from one of my friends from university. They are a folk duo from Sweden, and I’ve been listening to their album The Big Black and the Blue, which my dad bought for me on vinyl and it’s been playing non-stop for a very long time now and it’s brilliant. One of the best things about their music is their use of harmonies. They are scattered throughout the album in every song, and are beautifully created. Accompanying these are acoustic guitar and sometimes piano parts which fit so well and don’t overwhelm or take away anything from what makes these songs amazing. I can’t fault a single song, so it makes it even harder for me to recommend just one, even with my choice of In The Morning (it being the first track on the album), so I would say, just listen to the whole album. This has definitely now become one of my favourite albums, without a doubt.
As I keep saying how great the album is, because it is, here is the full album which you should definitely listen to, and then buy.
