Magic (Cover);

Lauren Aquilina was one of the first artists we ever wrote about on this blog so it's safe to say we've enjoyed watching her grow as an artist from her YouTube covers, going on tour, being signed and now, singing on Radio One (crazy, right?). I loved her set on the Radio One live from Maida Vale studio but her cover of Coldplay's Magic just stood out to me. It's Lauren at her strongest... Piano based with a beautiful melody which her voice carries wonderfully. It sticks true to the original however, I think Lauren is able to make her mark, especially in the more belty sections. The piano itself makes the performance more stripped than the original and I found it quite relaxing and very easy to listen too and enjoy. I think this cover shows although she is very current, Lauren has a slight edge to her and I think people will react to her very positively, just as they already have with her already enthusiastic fan base gradually growing larger and larger.
