Nick O'Shea: Mr Loverman

Mr Loverman;

I first heard Nick O'Shea when Forteloud went to a very small and intimate gig at the upstairs venue of the Garage in London. I was absolutely blown away by his incredible performance. Nick O'Shea is a young singer/songwriter from London whose songs tell his life story through meaningful and relatable lyrics. Mr Loverman is the song out of his set that really stood out to me. It is a catchy and upbeat love story sung from Nick's point of view. The chorus is insanely catchy, so much so that I found myself singing along to the song even though it was the first time I heard the track. The picked guitar section at the intro I think really show off just how wonderful a musician Nick is. The drums are then introduced by talented musician Ryan Clark which provide a varying paced beat throughout. I particularly like the sections when the instruments pause allowing the listeners to focus solely on Nicks vocals which remind me of a wonderful mixture of Jamie T and Ed Sheeran. For a new artist I was impressed at how confident and professional he was on stage. This in particular I believe is going to take him a long way in the music industry and I know there's going to be an exciting future ahead for Nick O'Shea. His EP Young and Dumb is to be released in the near future which includes the tracks Mr Loverman, You and Me, Young and Dumb and Loves so Overrated. Nick O'Shea is performing on the 19th April at the Camden Barfly and also at The Garage on 23rd May. I've already got my tickets, what about you?
