Emma Stevens: Riptide

Riptide;

If you've had a bad day, (for example you dropped your phone in the toilet, you sat next to a smelly person on the train ect.) or you're just feeling a bit down in the dumps, THIS is the song you need to listen to. I stumbled upon this track whilst listening to radio 2 where it was played and as quickly as I could I whipped out my phone and opened up my shazam app to find out it was sang by the beautiful Emma Stevens. The song itself is very up beat and it makes you happy. It's blend of country and pop makes it the perfect song to listen to as although it's relatively fast, it's still easy listening. Although this song could be classed as a pop song, you can definitely hear the country influence in the instrumentation and melody, and this makes it unique. There are lots of pop artists and lots of country/folk artists but not many can blend the two smoothly, yet Emma has done this perfectly. The lyrics are so very adorable and we can all relate to them. We've all met/know that one person who makes you feel so in love with them and you don't care if you're 'in too deep', because they make you happy. She sounds so excited by this 'riptide' she's being dragged into, and what it holds in store. Riptide is currently the iTunes single of the week so go and download it for free and be sure to take a listen to her other stuff! Emma, you just gained yourself a new fan.

Here's the enchanting video for Riptide:
