Keaton Henson: Lying To You

Lying to You;
Fan of Passenger? You will definitely love Keaton Henson. His voice is similar in that it's got a squeaky/little tone to it and that the melodies are light and flowing. I also think as the lyrics gets deeper, you can feel the emotion in his voice. When he sings "I'm not in love with you." it's almost like he's crying; It makes the song even more heartbreaking! The instrumentation is extremely effective in that it's so little it allows the focus on the lyrics and the voice, exaggerating the singer's heartbreak and despair in the song. I found myself getting emotional on the first listening of this song, which is rare for me; it usually takes me a few listenings to find the centre of a song but Lying to You got to me straight away. I can't even relate to the lyrics but I feel myself really sympathising with the singer.
