With Handfuls of Dust;
This is just a wonderful song. I think Bean is a bit similar to Michael Kiwanuka in the way he writes and sings... The guitar melody is cute; Folk/Country elements intertwined within both the main melodies. The song itself is very simple but (unsurprising for me!) an acoustic guitar and a voice is sometimes more powerful than an overly produced record with hundreds of different things going on. When I listen to this song, I feel happy and calm and I hope that is what Bean is trying to achieve because that is what is given off to the listeners. Having 'Handfuls of Dust' implies floating away, like how sand escapes through the gaps in your fingers when you keep it. Better still, a handful isn't a grasp but a hold; this again implies this is a calming track opposed to one about anger or regret.
