Saint Raymond: Young Blood

Young Blood;

The place I tend to discover new artists is Xfm radio as they play lots of new music as well as classic indie. The last artist I discovered there was Saint Raymond, real name Callum Burrows from Nottingham. The 18 year old artist has had a VERY exciting year. He played Reading and Leeds festival's introducing stage, has been played on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show, and has even reached the top 25 on the itunes chart in recent months. He has also been supporting Gabrielle Aplin on her tour and his EP Escapade has been released on her record label. Young Blood was the first song I heard of his followed by the amazing Fall at Your Feet. I found Young Blood just so unbelievably catchy, I couldn't stop singing it! The song is targeted at the teen age group as the singer is exploring love and is unaware of where it could lead, 'I donno where we're heading'. I particularly like the mention of 'we' throughout the song as it's something everyone goes through at a young age, not knowing the impact of love, 'we can't help what we're feeling'. Saint Raymond is rumoured to be Nottingham's next big artist in the music scene, being nicknamed 'Nottinghams next Jake Bugg'. Callum's EP Escapade is out now and his next EP Young Blood is out January 21st. Believe me you wont regret buying them!
